No Pain, No Gain, No Shame!
After a grueling Interval training on Wednesday, Miles was feeling the effects of the hard run. “You reap what you sow!” is what goes through his mind….. hopefully, the hard work and the pain will prove beneficial in the coming weeks.
“No Pain! No Gain!……. and there’s no Shame too!!!” mutter Miles under his breath as he work-up bright and early in the wee hours of the morning for his 6th consecutive workout day.
Macro Week #9 (10km Intermediate)
Micro Week #02, Session 4 –
Plan: Run 6.4 km
Actual: Run 6.42 km (52:01 mins)

“Let’s do it!!!” Miles grinded his teeth as he did an easy paced 6.42km as a recovery run. Surprisingly, his legs still feel good at this stage.
Friday is meant to be the only rest day of the week, but as luck has it, Miles had to work on Sunday. So he had no choice, but to bring forward the cross training session to Friday, making this week’s rest day on Sunday.
But that will also mean, it will be 8 days of consecutive workout, stretching from last week’s long run on Saturday.
We don’t live in a perfect world, and more often than not, things will not always go our way. We just have to adapt as we go along.
Micro Week #02, Session 5 –
Plan: Cross Training 1 hr
Actual: Run 5.6 km (1:31:30 hr)

Miles decided to take a hike at the nearby reservoir as part of his cross training. It was a hilly walk, but it was a breath of fresh air hiking through the woods and nature. Naturally, Miles also decided to walk longer than the stipulated 1 hour, immersing himself in Nature.
Micro Week #02, Session 6 –
Plan: Run 8 km
Actual: Run 8.05 km (1:04:01 hr)

On Saturday, Miles met up with his buddies for their 8km run. As they ran, they had a good laugh complaining to one another of their own adventure and their respective weekday run. The grumbling came fast and furious in particular to their interval run.
Nothing like suffering together to build a better bond!!!

And after their run, they had another bonding session having their favourite old school prawn noodles soup. Food is always a good way to bring people together.
It was a good way to end their long week, with a sumptuous meal, together with good friends. Plenty of laughter, plenty of good conversation. A good way to maintain their sanity in life.
Life is good!
