A New and Uneventful Week!!!
A brand new plan, and a brand new beginning. Miles has a more conservative schedule now, and has regain his confidence moving forward.

Cross training on Monday was a 38mins swim at the pool. Miles is starting to get use to the weekly swim, followed by breakfast and off to work.

The next day started off well, with a nice and cooling 5km run. Maintaining an average HR of 140 bpm at 8:10mins/km pace.
“Great start! ” Miles comforted himself, hoping that this time round, he will be able to follow through all the way.

After a day’s rest, Miles continued with his 2nd run of the week, a 6km run on Thursday. Luck was on his side as the rain stopped just before he started his run.
“Yay!” Miles’ gave himself a rah-rah that his run could proceed, almost losing hope when he heard the rain drops when he woke up.
Average HR remained below 145bpm, but pace was slower than his 5km run.

Miles welcomed the rest day on Friday and was finally able to meet up with his buddies Wade & Gallop for their weekly weekend run.
7km. Such an unforgettable number. The last 10km time trial ended at the 7km mark. The last run which he stopped due to knee pain was also at the 7km mark.
So when the plan was to run 7km on the weekend, Miles felt some trepidation as he started his run.
It was a cautious and easy run for the trio, not that any of them were complaining. But it was still a very solemn and quiet run, unlike their usual joyous run full of chatters and banters. Somehow, the mood was dampened as memories of the two DNF runs drifted in and out of Miles’ mind throughout the run.

But every run has to have a happy ending…. well almost…. this run ended with no major pain or issues. Coming back at a very comfortable average HR of 139 bpm, much better than expected. And at a respectable pace of 8:29mins/km.
“I’ll take it! As long as I finish the run pain free, I’m happy” mutter Miles under his breath at the end of the run.
The mood changes as soon as the run ended….. and everyone was at their chirpy best. Laughter and jokes were aplenty, and everyone’s mood were mysteriously lifted, it was like a heavy vest were lifted off their chest immediately after the run ended.

It was breakfast as usual for the trio, at Bedok North St 2 (Blk 128). Nice hot bowl of Kway Chap to finish off the run.
When Sunday evening came, Miles was feeling good and ready to take on week 2.
An uneventful day to end an uneventful week.
This week marks the start of a new beginning. A new customized program. Renewed Hope.
… stay tune to see how they fare next week.
