Yesterday morning, runners gathered at The Wave, Sport and Recreation Centre, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), for a special event celebrating the partnership between Xtep and the NTU running community ahead of the BYD Singapore International Marathon in December.
As part of the sponsorship, Xtep will provide apparel for members of the NTU Cross Country Team participating in the marathon. The elite runners will also be racing in Xtep’s flagship 160X 8.0 Pro Running Shoes, bringing Xtep’s performance running gear to the starting line.
The event also marked the kickoff of an eight-week training programme for the wider NTU fraternity, bringing together alumni, students, staff and faculty members who are preparing to take on the BYD Singapore International Marathon.
The morning began with welcome speeches by Professor Boh Wai Fong, Vice-President of NTU, followed by Dr. Wu Lianyin, Vice-President of Xtep Group and General Manager of the Xtep Running Development Center.
After a warm-up session led by Coach Jin, Professor Boh, Dr. Wu and invited guests came together to flag off the participants for a 6km run around the NTU campus, officially setting the training programme in motion.
With the support of Xtep and the NTU community behind them, the runners now begin their journey towards race day, building their fitness, endurance and team spirit over the coming eight weeks.
From the NTU Cross Country Team to every member of the NTU fraternity taking part, we wish everyone the very best in their training and preparation.
All the best, NTU runners! Run strong, stay safe, and godspeed on your journey to the BYD Singapore International Marathon 2026!
