Recently, I was standing at a traffic light waiting for it to turn green so I could cross. To my shock, a lady jogger ran past me and straight onto the road. Fortunately, the approaching car managed to stop in time. Incidents like this are not uncommon, as frequently seen on social media platforms such as Roads.sg and SGRV.
The whole purpose of jogging, running, cycling, or any form of exercise is to stay fit and not end up in a hospital. Endangering ourselves by not paying attention to traffic or by dashing across pedestrian crossings is counterproductive and defeats the purpose of exercising in the first place.
