Malacca Skyhawk Nature Run 2026 – A Race That Feels Like Coming Home

The Malacca Skyhawk Nature Run has always held a special place in my heart. I first took part in this race ten years ago, and I have found myself returning ever since because it genuinely feels like coming home. Over the years, the race director and his team have also become friends, which makes the experience even more meaningful. It is rare to find a race where passion, friendship, and community come together so naturally.

One of the things I love most about the Skyhawk Nature Run is its unmistakable vibe and atmosphere. From the early morning buzz at the start line to the easy smiles and familiar greetings, there is a warmth to this race that is hard to replicate. The event is consistently well organised, a testament to the dedication and heart of the organising team—many of whom have been part of the journey since the early days.

The route offered a wonderful kampong experience, taking runners through quiet village roads and charming rural surroundings that made the run especially memorable. Instead of forest trails, we ran past traditional houses and through peaceful stretches where daily life in rural Malacca unfolded around us. Locals watched curiously, waved, and offered encouragement as runners passed by, adding a uniquely personal touch to the experience. It was a refreshing change from typical race routes and a wonderful reminder of why this event is called a “nature run”.

The race continues to be very popular with runners from Singapore, turning it into an annual reunion of sorts. It is always a joy to meet friends at the start line, exchange stories along the way, and reconnect with people I have not seen in a long time—all brought together by a shared love for running and this special race.

Support throughout the event was excellent, as always. Volunteers were friendly and encouraging, aid stations were well placed, and everything ran smoothly. And of course, no Skyhawk Nature Run would be complete without the post-race food. Malacca has always been one of my favourite places to visit, not just for running but also for its amazing food. The spread provided for runners after the race was both generous and satisfying—the perfect way to end the morning.

Ten years on, the Malacca Skyhawk Nature Run remains a race I wholeheartedly recommend. It is more than just a run; it is about people, place, and community. Needless to say, this is one race I will gladly keep coming back to.
