“Perseverance is many short races one after the other”
Week 3 of the 10km (Novice) schedule!
The main increment from Week 2 were 5+10 mins more for Cross Training as well as the increase of the Long Run on the weekend from 5.9km to 6.4km, just a mere 500m. Gradual increment that sounds very doable.
As with the previous week, the first 3 consecutive sessions passed by without any major incident. Still the same 4km Run, 35mins Cross Training (+5), 3.2km Run.
Macro Week #02 (10km Novice)
Micro Week #03, Session 1 –
Plan: Run 4 km
Actual: Run 4.05 km (32 mins)
Still keeping HR around 135-145 bpm. Pace improved slighted to 7:55mins/km. (Previous 8:24mins/km)

On Wednesday, increased the Brisk Walking duration from 30mins to 35mins
Micro Week #03, Session 2 –
Plan: Cross Training 35 mins
Actual: Brisk Walk 35 mins (3.76 km)
As with the previous week, keeping it easy with avg HR below 135, Perhaps a little to easy, pace drop to 9:23mins/km (Previous 9:03mins/km)

On Thursday, the third consecutive day of exercising during the weekdays. This time Miles remember that the distance is 3.2km and not the 3km he mistaken the week before.
Micro Week #03, Session 3 –
Plan: Run 3.2 km
Actual: Run 3.22 km (23:26 mins)
Seems like they are getting the hang of it.

As Miles finishes his third run for the week, he remembers one of his favorite quote
"Perseverance is not a long run, it is many short races one after the other."
These few runs might seem mundane and too short, but it is clearly by doing the small tasks well repeatedly, then will you be able to conquer the bigger tasks in the future.
….. (to be continued)
Disclaimer
This is a work of fiction. If you think you recognize yourself in here, you’re probably mistaken… or you have a very unusual life. Names, characters, places, events, and incidents are either made up entirely or borrowed from the author’s overactive imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental — and if it’s not, well, that’s just awkward.
